BioI am a mother of two young boys (currently aged 4 and 6). I discovered Harry Potter fandom about four years ago and it has become my primary hobby, owing to the fact that it does not require me to leave my house much (meaning, no need for babysitters). I enjoy discussing the books with other fans and writing fanfiction (mostly about Snape, my favorite character). I am a lifelong avid reader and before acquiring a profession, used to write, so the hobby is a good fit for some long-standing interests. And I do very much like the books!
Before I became a mom, I was heavily involved in Judo, in which I am a black belt, and used to compete at the national level. I will probably go back to it (less seriously) when my boys are old enough to try it themselves.
I work for a division of The Nielsen Company, putting my mathematical education to work doing modeling and statistics in a marketing research context. I am an alumna of the University of Chicago (undergrad) and UCLA (graduate school).
